Your search for a writing group is over ~
Join us in the
Time to Write Workshop!
The Time to Write Workshop is an online gathering of educators who are looking to grow our own writing habits so that we can help our students grow theirs.
We know that when we are writers ourselves, there is so much we can learn about teaching writing that we can't learn from a box or book.
Plus, when life gets crazy with teaching, the Time to Write Workshop is a time to do a little writing for yourself and to be a part of a community that supports, encourages, and understands you.
Are you a new(er) writer? Here's where you'll find support, inspiration & connection to help you grow into a stronger writer and teacher of writers. Each of us comes from a variety of writing experiences, backgrounds, and levels. There are no writing experts or comparisons here. We are all growing in our own ways.
What do YOU need? In the Time to Write Workshop, we do our best to help each teacher-writer meet their goals. Whether this is starting a writing habit, finding a critique partner, pushing themselves with a challenge, learning more about teaching writing, or possibly even publishing, we want to be a resource and cheerleader for you!
ALL are welcome. Come as you are & we will help you get to where you want to be. We welcome educators and friends of education from all grade levels and backgrounds, as well as all writing abilities. (We especially love to help newer writers find their passion for writing!)
From Our Participants:
"Prior to my participation in this workshop, I considered myself a teacher who dreamt of being a writer...someday. I held this dream for most of my life, yet for various reasons, I denied myself permission to realize my dream. My yearning to write, though, continued to grow, so I decided to do something about it. Since joining the weekly Time to Write! Workshop, I have gained confidence in myself as a writer. I AM a writer! It is no longer "I want to be a writer someday." I appreciate the encouragement I have received from everyone in the group." -- Tracy Vogelgesang
"Participating in the Time to Write workshops has given me the opportunity to connect with other teacher-writers. The support and accountability that this group offers me encourages me to stick to my goals and, most importantly, to keep writing. I come for the community and I stay for the camaraderie and the focused time to write." -- Elisa Waingort
"Time to Write has really transformed my writing and teaching life. Through consistent writing, I now have filled notebooks with poetry, plays, short stories, teaching tips, reading recommendations, and much more. The Teach Write community is supportive and will cheer me on or help me talk and work through challenges and frustrations. I love Tuesdays because I know I always have my writing group there for me no matter what." -- Michelle Sheehan
"Time to Write has become the writing community I've been searching for for YEARS!" -- Kerry Chapman
"I joined Time to Write to keep writing front and center in my mind and to be a part of an incredible community of teacher-writers." -- Karen J. McLean

Frequently Asked Questions:
Will I learn how to write in this workshop? Time to Write is not an instructional workshop. You will not learn how to write. Instead, we offer support, inspiration, and dedicated time to write in each session, as well as a community that will support your growth as a writer and as a teacher-writer.
Do I have to attend the same session each week? No. Come whenever it is convenient for you. You do not have to schedule your sessions in advance.
Do I have to attend every session each week? No. Many of our Time to Writers attend just once a week and a few come to all. It is completely up to you and your schedule.
Will I have to share my writing? Not at all, although there are opportunities to participate in our Open Mic Nights or to get feedback on your writing if that interests you.
